Hi all, first time poster.

I've done my reading, and am looking at purchasing a pear or oval diamond for an ering. I'm looking for something eye clean, well-cut (minimal or no bow-tie), and that faces up white-ish (warm is ok, yellow isn't). Sized as large as possible within the budget of $20,000 US.

I have considered this diamond https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/pear-shaped/3.02-carat-k-color-vs2-clarity-sku-904624. I have the ASET from James Allen as well.

Oh wise PriceScope community - does this diamond pass my own criteria? My concerns are that the K color grade won't be close to white (even with strong blue fluor), or that the bow-tie will be too prominent. Should I be going smaller in exchange for better color/cut?

I'm at your mercy.

Hi, as a pear owner I was definitely warned about pears showing more colour than other cuts (not all cuts but they do show tint). I think the k will be too tinted, and the video at James Allen to me really is tinted. I'm no expert though, and my pear is an antique cut, so different again but I'm sure you'll get some help soon!

Thanks for the response. That's certainly one of my fears. I'm ok with going a little warm on the color, but want to avoid an obviously yellow stone. I wonder how much difference the strong fluorescence will make, but it's tough for me to picture it without seeing it in person!

I'd get a higher color.

Thanks for the help so far. I refined my search a bit and came up with 3 more options.

1. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/pear-shaped/2.01-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-sku-2211494

2. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/pear-shaped/2.03-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-2167032

3. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/pear-shaped/2.10-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-sku-2301639

All three are better color, but smaller, than my original choice above. Any thoughts on these, compared to each other or the OP?
