Yes it’s another toi et moi help thread!

I am considering repurposing my antique cluster ring into a 7 stone band (like the CVB Norah) and a toi et moi ring using the centre with my unheated sapphire (they are both 5.5-5.6mm in diameter). Sapphire 0.81ct and diamond 0.7ct.

Firstly does anyone have any thoughts on the sapphire. Is it good enough for this ring? It seems to have a window but I am a total novice on coloured stones so would appreciate any input.

My inspiration ring is below. The size of the stones on this ring are bigger. @Rfisher i am very much hoping you might work your magic and help me see what it might look like with my size stones?! The original is with a 1.35ct sapphire and a 1.23ct diamond.

here’s what I’ve come up with. I think your stone sizes are the most accurate size representation to your hand I could get, but I’m not 100% positive on that.
The scale of the setting to your stones, compared to the inspiration is changed. To have it the same as the inspo, I think the ring would be way too thin. (Even though it does seem to have some height to give it strength - so maybe it could be feasible - I don’t know)

if you think you’ll get more wear in resetting the stones - go for it! custom settings are more expensive than ever right now.
I don’t know how to answer if your sapphire is “good enough”. If it makes you happy to look at it - that’s the litmus test in my book.

I think from looking at this that the setting is too ornate for the size of stones. Perhaps something simpler would be better.
