Thanks ma re! That is actually the only article I could find on the stones and I did find it interesting!!!

I was really curious about the unusual dispersion that Barry spoke about in the stone and was wondering if I could find more info on what might be responsible for it, he said that the stone has alot of bright blue and green flashes in most light.

Does anyone own any yellow tourmaline? TL? What is the color like IRL???

I have a trichroic golden yellow tourmaline not the very light yellow seen from the posting earlier though

I love yours D&T!

Nothing much to contribute, other than what''s going thru my mind right now.."We all live in a yellow tourmaline" Sigh. This is what caffeine does me.

Thanks Packrat!.
The one you have posted looks like it has a slight greenish undertone? I have a mali garnet that has a green undertone with the main color being yellowish and finding the right metal color was a bit tough (it looked better in white gold), however the one I posted of my tourmaline, has a brown undertone. Under incandescent lighting it loses the yellow and more brown shows up. I'm ok with the brownish undertone, its not as desirable but didn't bother me a bit so the discount for my tourmaline

this is a good example of yellow tourmaline-the pendent is @ 12 cts of african-mozambique-very nice in person-a little shade of green in the larger stone-enjoy...

Most yellow beryl is a brownish yellow (golden color). It is very rare to find it in a greenish yellow. It can also vary in tone, some of it can be washed out.

a good example of yellow beryl-color seems as described-a little different from tourmaline...

Did I say yellow beryl? For some reason, I have beryl on my mind. I meant yellow tourmaline. Most of it is also brownish yellow in appearance.

I've tried Mali's but they just don't float my boat-something about how they look with my skin tone I think. Maybe I should stick with yellow stones with no green undertones! Sounds like they'd be easier to set too :)

Lovely stone D&T-have you set it yet?
Not yet, Can't seem to commit to settings, everytime I have a budget in mind, I end up buying more gems, so nothing has been set yet, I have two gems that have settings for them, and can't seem to just go to my jeweler, I'm only available one day that he is available as the other days he's gone before I can catch him after work. uggg. I know what you mean with the green undertone the mali I have has those green undertone and the yellow is too like, so it clashes with yellow gold.... one day I'll just have to sit down and commit to buying ONLY mountings...lol
