Well, after TL's amazing "sun on hand" shot of her chrysoberyl, I went on the hunt for something similar. While I didn't get any such crazy pictures, I wanted to share some of the yellow chryso I recently bought from Peter Torraca. I'm super happy with it! And no, no setting plans yet...(ideas always welcome) It's 1.89 ct.

My pictures always look so small! I reduce them so I can upload them successfully, but then it seems you can hardly see the stones...Let me try a slightly larger version...

I think it is bright and pretty. Jill Anish bezels them well, I have two from her , and they are so bright, they can be bezeled. A ring?

In order to get a close up picture, if you have a simple Paint or other generic picture manipulation software, you should be able to crop the picture, removing most of the background.

Crasu, thanks for the suggestion. I will give it some thought. I think it will go into a ring. I had thought about maybe a ring with light blue sapphire sides, but don't know what, if anything, that might do to the very slightly greenish element to the chryso(?).

Chrono, I will try that, thank you. Here are a couple of attempts, though I may have already shrunk the pictures too much previously, so I'll either have to take more, or try on my next stone/thread.

Looks great! I don't see any green in it.

It's very very minimal, and only in certain lighting. I was thinking after I posted that a light blue beside probably wouldn't change anything.

Beautiful gemstone - what are the measurements? I think it looks like a really nice size chrysoberyl, very lovely color. I've seen a lot of smaller stones for sale lately, but haven't encountered any that look similar in size to yours. (Or if I see'em, they're already sold!) Enjoy!!!!!
