I watch house hunters for the giggle factor. Who are these people? I do like the new reno show in Tennessee - Home Town - and I also like Fixer Upper.

Those home shows make me depressed! Either the buyers are beyond wealthy, or they have the ability to find nice houses with property for $150K-$300K. I sit here looking at downsizing to something that is $900K, which honestly, is out of the budget! By the time I can afford granite countertops that they all want ($4K for my tiny kitchen btw), they will be completely out of style. Bleh!

@leukolenos Yup. It is truly insane out here. Now whoever bought it (it might be a flip) will have to sink a ton of money in it to renovate it. So by the time they are done they've spent nearly 1.4 million. For a house that in most areas would cost 150k at most. On Fixer Upper that house would be the 50k house for the person with the 150,000 budget.
