I was thinking of making it into a band, but now I'm undecided. It's a pretty high rise ring. WWYD? 20231018_141703.jpg20231018_141946.jpg20231018_141755.jpg20231018_141741.jpg20231018_141741.jpg

Geez, that is high, too high for my liking!

If it was mine, I would reset into a daisy in a bangle.

DK :))

I love it from the top. I would leave it as a daisy and see if somebody could lower that whole head. Pretty.

@Slickk , they are real old cuts and pretty good clarity, but set in 11 ct, which makes no sense, so I'd probably have to reset the entire thing. I didn't know there's an 11k option.

If you think you would wear it more often and enjoy it more as a band, I see no reason why you shouldn’t do that. But, if you really do like the daisy look, I would reach out to a couple jewelers and see if there’s some way they could lower it, albeit with the 11ct. I don’t think I have come across 11ct gold either.

@dk168 hmmm, inspiration pictures? I have plenty of rings but no bracelets lol

I would do away with the side stones, and make the band round instead of knife-edge (don't like knife-edge myself).

I’m not wild about the setting as is. My great aunt’s ER was a daisy cluster, bought in 1927, but I think the setting looks really nice, and low profile.

@Austina I love that bezel work so much.

I love a cluster, but that setting is altogether too tall for my liking. I have a tendency to bash my hands on anything in the vicinity. Unless you're nothing like me, it seems like you would be asking for trouble.

More my speed:

The daisy cluster is lovely, but the setting seems rather high to me. If it could be reset lower, it would be more comfortable, more practical, and more wearable for all occasions.
i hope you can find a jeweller who could modify the ring to your liking.

I agree, it you like the daisy shape, see if someone can lower it. Does it really matter if they have 11 kt? I'd see if someone could just chop off the bottom of the prongs tuck them under a bit and re-attach, or build a new shank. (obviously I'm not a jeweler) It is certainly worth investigating. If not, I'd take it apart and make a ring or bangle.

So you think they could lower the existing ring without changing the whole setting? That would be probably the less expensive option. Sometimes when it comes to resetting things in you pay so much for that labor that you could almost buy a band or whatever you’re thinking of changing to. So maybe just a good idea to get quotes. I really like the cluster ring, but the setting is a bit strange, so I would be tempted to look into keeping it as a cluster, but in a different setting.
