Would YOU have this ring/band resized?

Hi, sorry if I’m posting too much. But I found another vintage ring I like (there goes my bling ban. Oh, who am I kidding). Anyway, it’s a size 7. I like my rings to be at least 8.5 but preferably 9. The vendor said it could safely be sized up even 3 sizes, but I don’t know...It’s platinum, about 60-70 years old. I really like the midcentury vibe of this type of band but they’re really tough to find in a larger size. What would you do? Thanks! Here it is:

I would not risk it, especially with the baguettes angling downward.

Ask the vendor how they would propose to do the sizing. I assume they would cut into the back side of the shank and add platinum. I would not be comfortable with them trying to stretch the original shank.

Hi @MissGotRocks! Would OP need to be concerned if the composition of that jeweler's plat is different from what the ring is composed of?

Hi Headlight! That would certainly be an appropriate question I would think. Some people only want to deal with a platinum smith so that’s why I would be I interested to see what this vendor proposes.

FWIW if it were only being sized up a half-size, I'd consider it, but going up 1.5 to 2 sizes for me would be too chancey considering the bar-set tapered bags and the prong-set rounds ... YMMV

Yes, resizing Platinium can be tricky as if they add Platinium in it can be a different alloy (slight colour difference) and also leave a seam join.
Is the vendor going to do this or are they just giving their opinion about resizing?
Might not turn out well, especially seeing as most the world is on lockdown.

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful opinions!

Right now the vendor/vendor’s bench is not doing resizing so I’d have to buy it at its current size. But when I asked about the safety of resizing it up so much she said it shouldn’t be a problem for any bench to do it. She didn’t propose any particular method. But she’s in the business of selling rings, so...

Based on my limited knowledge/reading and what you ladies have said I’m leaning heavily towards not buying it.
