So I just picked up this platinum/gold brooch at an auction. I choose it to perhaps convert it to a bracelet. What do you think? Cuff bracelet with round knobby things on ends (boules I think they are called.)???
Sorry for large images in advance. Specs: Art Deco Brooch 63mm x 8mm, WEIGHT: 3.1 grams.
are the prongs on the smaller diamonds really thick and holding the stones in very well? a bracelet is going to get knocked a lot more than a brooch will.
but yes it looks nice!
Tkyasx78 - I don't know. Haven't gotten it yet. One of the reasons I thought it might work was because the main diamond and couple of others were bezel set. I agree as to the knocking around of a bracelet - I will, if I go this route, ask the bench your question. Thanks.
It would make a gorgeous bracelet but I think if you would wear it as a brooch it would be amazing too...I sometimes wear pins on the lapel of my jackets (making sure it is very secure) and it makes a statement when you are wearing a jacket for much of the day outside or inside. And it's different. But yes to a cuff bracelet as well if you are comfortable wearing bigger bracelets.
Having just done one I say yes yes yes! Yes to bracelet, yes to cuff specifically and definite YES to DK doing the conversion! Love the work he did on mine
If you aren’t a brooch wearer, definately yes to a cuff bangle I think.
A nice shaped oval one, with a gap at the bottom, the type you slide on sideways over your wrist. This way the setting always stays “face up” and out of trouble !
