Although I have never posted, I want to thank you all for advice on the forums and tools for identifying a perfect diamond within my budget. I have been reading these forums for the past couple of weeks and with your help, I selected a diamond and am now looking for a settings.

I really like this setting and think that she would too: http://www.ritani.com/products/view/434/in_collection/1

I have read a lot about light performance and how that is very important for a diamond. Would this setting limit the diamonds performance because the prongs have diamonds between them?

Thanks!

No, if the diamond you have chosen is a well cut stone. A well cut stone''s light performance mainly depends on light coming in from the crown being reflected back up, a lesser cut stone will need light to come in from the pavilion to help enhance the beauty of the stone.

Nope.

And it is a very pretty ring.

Looks promising from the numbers. Did you get an idealscope image for it?

Stone-Cold attached is the idealscope image.

I believe I have 30 days to return the diamond if I am not satisfied when it arrives.

Its an excellent image and should be a beautiful diamond, see what you think when you see it. A couple of things, it has a cloud as a grade setting inclusion, check that this cloud is not having a negative effect on performance ( rare but always best to check) and have you asked whether it is eyeclean to your standards?

Hi Rameses, it looks like you''ve done your homework when it comes to selecting a diamond. I agree with the other posters, the one you''ve selected there looks very promising! The ideal cut round diamond is going to look gorgeous on that Ritani setting and the diamonds between the prongs should not affect the center stone''s sparkle. Have you bought the ring or received any price quotes yet? For a good deal on that Ritani setting, I would recommend Firenze. It can be found here. Congrats and good luck, I''m sure she''ll be left breathless when she sees it
