Would love some opinions on this RB diamond

Hi there,

I'm not sure what parameters you are referencing but that diamond is not ideal.

If it is an SI2 there's a very good chance it is NOT eye clean and make sure thorough inspection of the stone is done either by yourself or a jeweller with a defined agreement for eye clean (eg from 6 inches).

The ideal range is:

Table: 54-58
Depth: 60-62.1
Crown: 34-35
Pavilion: 40.6-40.8

Although you may think I'm being picky with the crown angle being 36 instead of 34-35 it does make a considerable difference.

If you are going for a steeper 36 degree crown, the diamond MAY be a pretty one, if combined with a shallower pavilion, such as 40.6 (rather than 40.8). Although I wouldn't buy a 36 degree crown diamond unless there is an idealscope/ASET image to ensure there is no leakage.

Oh goodness, that isn't close to ideal proportions. I would eliminate that one for sure.

I use the same measurements as gm89uk except I will allow for up to 62.3 depth. I also agree that I would not consider buying an SI2 without magnified images of the stone or seeing it in person with my eyes and a loupe.

Hi,

Thank you both for the responses! That diamond was instore so I could view it if I liked, however, now I see Excel diamonds is having a sale so I would like to purchase from them as I love the Vatche U113.

How do these look:

Thanks so much! I am hoping to purchase this weekend as I have been looking for 2 months!

Thanks for the reply! What is a staller? Does that mean they aren't good at all?
The first diamond is an indented natural, would there be obvious flaws with this or anything I need to watch out for?

I really like the stone flyingpig highlighted from the numbers as well. How did you get on?

Lol.. I meant to say "not stellar"
To elaborate, 2nd diamond has a slightly large table. It can be good, but not as good as 1st.
3rd is just meh. The crown angle is too low, the pav angle is too high, and the table is large.

I would not worry about an indented natural in VS1, especially when it is listed 3rd after Crystal and Feather (Yes, the order does matter. The most severe and noticeable inclusion is always listed first)

I'd pick #1 , b/c of the smaller table with a tall crown. That just me.. ;))

Thank you all. I have purchased the first diamond to be set in a Vatche U113. Fingers crossed it turns out well!

Post when you get pictures!

Finally, someone who listens. Come back with pictures. It's going to look great!
