Good Morning,

I have been looking for about 6 months for my 10th anniversary upgrade. Thanks to PS it has to be an old cut diamond of about 1ct give or take :lickout: Happy to go up to an M in colour.
I am from Australia so had never heard about this type of cut before. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to where to look. I have looked at JbEG and am very impressed with her collection of loose stone and rings. My possibly unrealistic budget is $3000ish US dollars (more for the whole ring) as the exchange rate is particularly bad at the moment. Would love your thoughts and examples if possible. My finger size is 4.5 so quite small. Ideally I would love a bezel with mil grain but open to anything solitaire or loose.

Thanks in advance,

Bibs :)

JbEG just got in several parcels of diamonds so I would call or email then to see exactly what they have that would fit your budget.

Another option is Old World Diamonds- ask for Adam. They are out of NYC and I think their pricing is pretty darn good for old cuts.

Hi Bibs! Great project and I think JbEG is a great place to start as well as Adam at Old World Diamonds. They have some great antique cut diamonds. Give Adam a call and see what he has in stock at your price range and ditto for Erica and Grace. They might have diamonds that are not yet listed on their websites. Cannot wait to see what you choose!

ETA: Sarah beat me to it... I guess great minds think alike....doesn't hurt that we both have diamonds from Adam LOL.

Hehehe hello my antique cut fellow sister :appl:

I have done business with both OWD and JbEG so I love to recommend them. They both have great eyes for antique cuts and antique jewelry. I think JbEG does better settings for the most part but Adam can source more diamonds at lower price points. Regardless they are all wonderful people. I'm hoping when I'm in NYC this fall/ winter I can stop in and see Adam. Feel like joining me so Bea and Venice can have a photoshoot!

Sorry to threadjack OP!

You're coming in December, RIGHT?!

Another recommendation for both JbEG and OWD. Erica and Grace are both delightful and Adam at OWD chose a great .81 ct. OMC for me, the least expensive of the three I asked about by a considerable amount and it's just beautiful. You can't go wrong doing business with either JbEG or OWD.

Yes, I cannot wait!!! Bea and Venice are long overdue in meeting in person. :appl:

And it would be great if it coincided with Ginger's visit here too. :wavey:

Bibs, I do recommend calling the vendors if you possibly can (in addition to emailing). I find speaking to most vendors on the phone to be more efficient and an easier way to convey exactly what you are looking for in addition to emailing.
