Would these be obvious in a 1.5ct, excellent cut, round diamond?

That looks like an interesting cut.

What does that mean? I'm not talking about this exact stone. I'm talking about those inclusions in an excellent cut, round brilliant stone. Would they be noticeable to someone casually looking at it?

Yes. They will most likely be.

If i were you i would be more concerned about cut. That diamond is horrendous. It is out of round and have obvious symmetry flaws.

I think the person is asking about salt and pepper inclusions in a much better cut diamond. A better cut will hide some inclusions better that is true, but if you have something that has big inclusions or in this case lots of black carbon spots when you look top down unless you are blind or like looking at your diamond from miles away then yes you will probably see them. If in doubt go and look at it and if that is not possible ask the vendor is it 100% eye clean.

Is it possible to see this diamond in person? If not, I'd be staying away from it.

Some people are much more sensitive to inclusions than others. Some people spot them very easily and some have trouble locating them even with a plot diagram and loupe. Some people feel that inclusions add to their diamonds charm, like a birthmark, others need a stone to be 'mind clean' so even if the inclusion is well hidden, they are unsatisfied because the know it's there. I think it's something that you really have to evaluate in person to know for sure how you feel about it.

Yes you would see them. Cut has nothing to do with the salt and pepper inclusions.

I personally almost want to be able to see them, when I look. I just don't want it took look bad those casually looking at it. I don't think it'd get judged simply because I live in a place where everyone has CZ, or small I1-I2 diamonds. I just want to know if it'll be noticeable. Not if I'd be able to see it, but if it'll be something that's really, really obvious.

If you care what other people think you will never be happy .

what's your budget and are you guys looking to buy right now? I don't mind an I1 if the inclusions are placed perfectly. Not to mention that you could get an I1 that's cleaner than that....

Yea, let us help you get the biggest stone for you budget without sacrificing too much beauty.
