Hi!

I''m on the hunt for a stone for a new project.

Here is what I''m looking for --

-Something that can be bezeled
-Round or cushion shape
-Light/medium blue, or a nice medium pink [think AJ garnet JM ring]...but also open to other colors depending on how the stone looks ;)
-Not sooooper pricey [less than $300, ideally less than $250]

I''ve found a few, but since you guys rock at finding stones, I thought I''d ask here as well!!

Any ideas??

6.25mm blue tourmaline $250
A bit pricey for the size, but the color looks purty.

i do like the color. it might be a bit busy for the sleekness of the ring....but i will add it to consideration!

i LOVE john''s square pink malaya...but it''s out of budget

ACStones post new gems regularly and they''re always nicely cut. Good luck with your search.

Okay, here goes:

Something to be bezeled: go for a light or medium toned stone.
Round or cushion: got it.
Pink or blue: OK
$250 budget: check
Any mm size requirement?

i''ve jumped on the julia bandwagon. sigh.

looks like we''re gonna keep that girl BUSY.

just a sleek bezel. kind of james meyer-ish but more simple.

pardon my ignorance - who is julia? do you have a link?

Her website is www.juliakaytaylor.com and it has a link to her Etsy site.

She has been wonderful to work with!

You could also contact Vallejo on ebay, I have a very light aqua from him, but I bet if you specify a color, he can let you know if he has something suitable. His cuts are really nice, and his prices are fantastic.

Hehe, I'm glad I found Julia early, sounds like she's going to have a backlog for awhile!

good idea! i will do that. i emailed dan as well.

she is so nice! i can''t wait to see her sketches. should be sometime this week. you started a sensation, ha ha!! :)

That''s right! Vallejo would be an inexpensive option and a good match for pale shades.
