Would anyone here buy a D/SI2 H&A eye-clean stone?

Great color, not so great clarity, but eye-clean. Around 0.8 carats and $3800, ideal cut, H&A. Decent?

Sure, if I wanted a D, if it was eyeclean, and I knew the cut proportions, a GIA or AGS report and a good vendor! Many here find an SI2 to be a fine clarity for them as it allows them a much larger diamond for the money!

Hehe, sounds about right. It was an option presented to me by one of the nice E-dealers, so I''m mulling it over. Don''t know if it''s better than an H/VS2 or not... or if it''s in the same price range.

Would I? In a heartbeat!!

This is exactly what I was looking for!! Cut and color were really important to me, however, I was more willing to negotiate on clarity. I did want to save the premium applied to VS1/2 rated stones ... Unfortunately, for me, I couldn''t find an SI2 stone that was eye-clean enough for me so I had to go to VS2. Good for you if you have found one!

Get the proportions and an Idealscope image, that way we can take a look!

Yes. If it was a PS vendor and the inclusions didn''t affect the durability of the diamond I would buy in a heartbeat.

Brilyant - For whatever it matters, I would hands down go with an absolutely spotlessly eye clean SI2 in D color over an H VS2 any day.
The D color is spectacular and if the SI2 is truly eye clean - I''m talking no hint of an inclusion, at any angle, unless under magnification - why go higher in clarity when there is no need? If the SI2 is not eye clean though, the H/VS2 is an excellent alternative!

This comes up, as expected as 1.1 = Excellent and within Tolkowski Ideal Cut Range.
It''s an awesome diamond! Go for it ... if it''s eyeclean! This is so exciting!

Ok its an ACA, a very safe and excellent choice - it will be fabulous as all of this brand are. Green light if eyeclean!

Yep, IS looks good as usual!

Ditto Kay, diamonds are disappearing rapidly this time of year, you might want to get it reserved ASAP...

If WF says it''s eye-clean, I would buy a D SI2 ACA in a heartbeat. The IS and ASET images look great.

I am a big proponent of paying for color you can see but not for clarity differences you can''t see w/o magnification. I have an eye-clean D SI1 marquise from WF, and one of my colleagues purchased an E SI2 expert selection RB from WF. I can''t see the inclusions in either of them w/o magnification, and the color is amazing.

You should call WF and put that stone on hold while you are making up your mind, otherwise someone may see it posted here and buy it before you can.

OK, I just placed it on reserve!

Oh boy... I feel butterflies...

I have 24 hours to think this over before either buying this diamond or returning it from my grasp :)

Will there be a significant difference in visible size between this 0.83 carat and, say a 0.91 carat stone?

Depends on the diameter measurements of both, rather than the carat weight, but generally assuming both diamonds have a great cut, there probably wouldn't be much of a difference - if any.

Assuming both are ideal cut... Not a visible difference, no. I think you''ve got a winner... and right in budget too!

Which setting are you getting? Legato Micro Pave or Harmony?

Thanks! She like the Legato best, so that''s probably the one I''ll be getting.

I''m pretty damn excited right now...

Yes, we both love the setting - I don''t know if it''s the way it looks online, or the way it''s photographed, but I think it looks amazing. I asked her because I wanted to be sure she liked the setting - she wanted the smaller side stones to complement the main stone, so as to not take anything away from it. :) She asked me if that''s the one I would eventually be getting and I said that I have a few different settings I like, hehe.
