Wood wall has me stumped (har!)--need help!

Yeah, it's harder to see in pictures than it is in person, but the sanding really did help make the white more subtle. I'd say the sanding removed more than half of the residual white paint, plus the white became less bright during the process, so the overall effect is much nicer than pre-sanding. I'm really glad I did it.

I think the in-laws will still think it looks too rustic, which is perfectly fine. I definitely get why it's not some peoples' cup of tea. But D and I both really like it, so I'm happy.

I'm glad it's over--many people in this thread said that stripping paint is a nightmare and I could not agree more. I won't be doing that again anytime soon. As always, I appreciate the PS support!
