I'm a pear because my hips are 14 inches bigger than my waist, but my chest is about 4 inches smaller than my hips... when I am in better shape I am hour glass because my hips shrink first. I don't look lik ea pear though. I have very broad shoulders and definitely look like an hour glass.

LOL!! Using the link that Musey suggested I am a Cello!!

I voted banana. I wish I was an hourglass!

I''m a banana, definitely. I think it''s funny that so many of us think of ourselves as hourglass, when only 8% of the surveyed bunch were truly hourglass. Heh. We''re all just guessing.

And another thing...if almost half of us are banana-shaped (straight) then why are all the pants made for hourglass figures?!

Because you guys have all the dresses made for you!

Hourglass (11" difference), but I think I''d prefer to be a banana. I hate clothes shopping.

Ha! I wonder the opposite -- I feel that there are no pants that look right on me, but if I were a banana-shape, they''d be just fine.

I didn't measure myself but I know I'm definitely a rectangle; when I had to be measured for a bridesmaid dress I think I was 35 32 36 or something crazy like that, and the lady mentioned I had a very high waist. I look good in empire waist dresses but look horrible in skirts (again lack of waist deal).
When I was a teenager wore mens/boy's levi's or Gloria vanderbilt, only ones that wouldn't slide off my skinny hips. After a couple kids I feel my hips might be a tad wider, but it is still very hard to find jeans that fit well due to high/wide waist and skinny thighs/legs, so either tight in waist or too loose in ass/legs area.

Yeah we were talking about that a page or two ago, that most pants are cut for ''bananas'' - the rube, I think you''re just shopping the wrong brands! It took me years to find jeans/pants that didn''t gap at the waist in order to accommodate my (proportionally) huge hips & butt!

Hey skipster!! There were a few favorites thrown out there (page 2) but my person faves are Citizens of Humanity, Taverniti and True Religion. Of course they have different cuts within the brands... the Tavernitis I have that fit are "Sacha," the True Religions are "Joey" (those are the *best* fit for me of all my jeans, no gaping anywhere!!) and the COHs are "Kelly."
ETA: I wish Willam Rast fit me because I luuurrrrrrrve their designs! Darn you bananas!!!

I am an Hourglass. Sometimes, I wish I had a little less on top.
