I''m a pear, but I always knew I was a pear.

Waist is 12" smaller than hips, and my bust is ~4" smaller than my hips. I also gain weight first in pear distribution, which stinks! Makes me even more pear-ey . . .

And with all of this fruit talk, I think I''m going to make a pie this weekend!

A thin pear

Waist 24
Hips 36
Chest - really small

I find I have a tough time finding jeans that fit both my waist and hips, it seems like they are made for women who have less than a waist, hip ratio. When I tell people that they are surprised because I overall look thin, but being thin is not the same thing as being curvy....I can see why the hourglasses are saying they have a hard time with clothes

I''m definitely a pear. I have a tiny waist and BIG hips...makes finding jeans almost impossible.

By the way, it''s so funny to read some of the responses. "...I never knew I was a banana..." etc. etc. Hahaha...

YUM!!

Current results:

I''m pretty sure I''m rhubarb because I have NO hips or chest. . .nothing. . .and I have no "fat distribution" in my rear or my face.

The real question is... if no one of any body type can find a pair of jeans that fits easily... who are they desigining jeans for?

Yeah, I think the only difference between pear and hourglass is the bust measurement, so the pants issue will be the same. I always had that problem until I started shopping higher-end jeans... they usually have multiple cuts and one that fits. My favorite jean brands are my favorites for one reason: they actually FIT!

I think people are just not looking hard enough, personally. I used to have to alter all of my jeans, until I went on a mission to find brands and styles that fit perfectly. I found three brands that have cuts that fit me without alterations, and I haven't even bothered to try another brand since!

It would interesting for each of us to post our body shape and then to post which jeans fit them best.

For me (banana) - Seven of Mankind, COH, & Joes. None need to be altered. . .just shortened to 5'' 4".

Pear? Tiny, but curvy. 33-25-35 (104 lbs) shopping is hard.

For me (banana) - Seven of Mankind

I''m also a banana and 7s work well on me, too (just have to get them hemmed at 5''5'''').

I'm 5'10" and pear shaped!

Jeans I've had good luck with:

Joe's Jeans in Honey (34 inch inseam)

iT Jeans in Diva (35 inch inseam available, yay!)

Hi MrsDoubleP!
35.gif
My favorite brands (cuts within the brand, not all their jeans fit me) are Citizens of Humanity, Taverniti and True Religion.

They always have to be shortened... I'm 5'4" and pear shaped

More results updating... staying pretty even between banana/pear/hourglass. Only one apple?? Really?

I''m a banana. No surprise there. I wish I had more "curves" but nope.

Thanks Musey! I''ll have to go check them out. It will be so exciting to have jeans that actually fit!

Thanks for the info elledizzy! I''m a 5''9" pear, so this sounds promising. Yeah!!

DF can get away with it. His wife has big beautiful giant diamonds!!!

I''m definitely a pear, at 36-30-40. Ah, I used to be 32-26-36. Le sigh.

I just got some spankin new 7s in the Flip Flop fit, which don''t need hemming because they''re a regular person length! Woohoo!!!

Hourglass! I've a teeny weeny waist, big boobs and hips. Makes clothes shopping a nightmare
14.gif

At least we don't get the dreaded 'muffin top' unless out pants are REALLY tight!
9.gif
Same here, I have a typical hourglass figure, and on top of that I'm petite

5'1...Shopping *is* a pain.
