I understand about the pictures. I love seeing other people''s, though, so I thought I''d ask! I think I actually went and looked to see if you''d posted any when I saw your ring thread in SMTR. Gorgeous rings!! I''m glad you had a good experience coming to MA to get married. It is a really good feeling- you''re right, we did feel exactly the same way on our wedding day. People were so sweet making nice comments, and other than the few clueless peopleDate: 2/13/2009 12:30:52 PM

Oy, sorry to have been absent! School is keeping me occupied. Ugh. 11 weeks to go!![]()
Scorpioanne, I would love to come up to Canada! We''ve been trying to devise ways to move to CAN for ages, but it seems expensive to immigrate, what with the restrictions on work, etc. So complicated. You should definitely be proud! Canada is a very cool place for many reasons. I am a great admirer of yours.![]()
Hi Sarah! Mmmmm, Pottery Barn! I love stuff like that.Someday when I have more $$$ in my life.... I get you will come up with nice stuff, though. I love dark wood [hahaha!!] and so does S. We have the same decorating tastes, which is helpful. What does your FI think of your choices? Or does he not really care? Hah. Right now I am really, really sold on nice beds. Seriously, we sleep in a dorm twin size bed. It sucks beyond belief.![]()
For dogs we really want a Pomeranian. They are so cute! Puppies are so adorable, especially little breed puppies. So tiny and cute. Aww! I am so sold on the idea of having a pet. Your apartment options sound pretty good, though. Will you be able to take Georgia with you? I bet your FI is happy to commute. You going to law school is important! He sounds like a sweetie for sure. I feel you about the car. At least it wasn''t new, huh?
Bleh. For music I like really corny stuff... Death Cab for Cutie is pretty much my fav., and I love Of Montreal. I am obsessed with music from Broadway shows, though. Right now I''m fixated on Spring Awakening because the music is so pretty, but I am pretty obsessed with Wicked and a bunch of others.![]()
Hi there, lovinsparkles! Thanks for stopping by. I saw a few of your threads but I didn''t see any of your wedding pictures. Do you have a thread? Sorry to be so nosy! I''m glad our posts could help you, and thank you for the compliment about our pictures!! Congratulations on your marriage. I hope you and your partner are doing well. I am so stressed about the CA thing. I am trying not to freak out, but it''s really hard not to. I''m glad you were able to get married in MA. I''m so glad the old law about marrying couples from out of state has been abolished. It was so ridiculous. Where do you live? We actually live in MA right now, but since we''re moving to CA this summer it doesn''t help us one bit to have a MA marriage license. At least this way we might have a chance of remaining recognized even if Prop 8 is upheld. It makes me not want to move to CA, though. At least in MA where we live now and where I grew up I feel somewhat respected. Thanks for all of the good thoughts! Sorry for not responding to your post with the ''Fidelity'' video in ATW... I just can''t bring myself to talk about ss marriage in there anymore. People have been so unbelievably out of line and disrespectful in the past that I''m afraid to really say anything about it. I was impressed at how civil the thread was until RA posted in it. I am using all of my willpower not to respond.![]()
Haha - I have gone back and forth so many times on posting pics, but no, as of yet I haven''t. We''re pretty private, and I feel extra protective over our special day, so, I don''t know... But then I''ve loved seeing other people''s (yours included!), so maybe one day.
We''re from the midwest (so no, our marriage is not formally recognized here), but it was such a nice feeling to know we were in a place where we were treated equally for the ceremony. We got married in the South End, which was a super welcoming placeAll the cars were honking and passerbys were saying nice stuff as we walked outside for our pictures. A really great feeling (I think you mentioned similar experiences in your wedding thread -- actually, when we were traveling with our dresses, we also got someone asking if we were having a double wedding!).
That Fidelity video is actually how I found this thread. I was thinking about posting it on PS but didn''t know if there was an appropriate place, so I did a search to see if it had already been posted, and found this one that I didn''t know existed. I usually stick to the ring and BWW forums, so I didn''t realize there was a history of problems. Sorry you''ve had to deal with that. Like the video, I think your willingness to share your pictures and such can only do good in the end...
Re: California, I know what you mean. I have to believe it''s just a temporary set-back...I''ll be watching all the court stuff closely and hoping it''s all resolved favorably by the time you move out there this summer!

I think you did the right thing posting the video in ATW. Don''t get me wrong, for the most part people are extremely kind and supportive, but there are a few people who purposely go over the line time and time again. I''ve grown bored of trying to explain how my relationship differs from bestiality and love affairs between people and inanimate objects, though. In the threads that are still left up [some of them got so nasty that they were closed] I''ve made the same argument over and over and over again, and people seem to revert not to agree to disagree mode, but to personal attacks and insults which are not welcome. I will say that the posters responsible for most of this do not post on PS except in the ATW section, which leads me to believe they''re primarily trollish and not much else. They are certainly not part of the PS "community," so to speak. Oy, I''ve gone and rambled, sorry! I, too, have been watching things in CA like a hawk. I get automatic email updates from the CA SC so I''m always alerted when there are changes in the case. I feel like I can''t do much else... I''ve already read all of the publicly available documents that have been filed and gathered all of the public statements made by the lawyers and organizations on both sides, so it''s just a waiting game. I hate waiting. I really do hope the result is favourable, but either way we''ll know before we move, which is helpful. I don''t think I''ll want to move if it comes back that we''re no longer married, though. What a bummer to go from happy MA to such a tumultuous CA!
