I know that we have periodically had threads about windowed stones and how they were remedied with the right setting. Gemfever's recent success has me wanting to see other happy endings. So please post your photos of your stone and then your successful setting that closed up the window. Here is GemFever's happy ending, which makes me want one of my own!

Here's mine - this is the Houdini of settings! I seriously was going to throw this tri-colour sapphire away and then decided just to pop it into this setting to see what happened and ............... voila, the blinds came down over the window! Well, almost anyway but to be fair the window was much more of a set of patio doors.

The amount of metal behind the stone (ie an almost closed basket) is the reason why this was so successful.

Well done!

Great idea for a thread!

LD: That is such a cool sapphire! And what a nifty setting.
