Diana's gift with people and especially with children has endeared her to people around the world, this is a gift she has left with her two sons, and Wills has become very much like his mother in this respect as well as others!

As I mentioned before in another thread, something interesting is that our Diana was not the first Lady Diana Spencer, so, just for a fun fact, here is the story as writ of the other Lady Di...
'Lady Diana Spencer Viscountess St John

* Born: 1734 21
* Marriage (1): Frederick St John 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke, 3rd Viscount St John in 1757
* Marriage (2): Topham Beauclerk on 12 Mar 1768 in St George's, Hanover Square, London
* Died: 1808 aged 74 21

bullet General Notes:

She was the daughter of the Honourable Elizabeth Trevor (d. 1761) and Charles Spencer, 3rd Duke of Marlborough (1706 -1758). Her siblings were George, Charles, and Elizabeth. She was raised at Langley Park, Buckinghamshire, where she was introduced to art early. Joshua Reynolds was a family friend.

She married Frederick St John, 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke (1734-1787), in 1757, and from 1762-1768 was lady of the bedchamber to Queen Charlotte. Her marriage was unhappy and Bolingbroke was notoriously unfaithful. In February of 1768 he petitioned for divorce on grounds of adultery. The petition required an act of parliament, which was passed the next month. Within two days she married Topham Beauclerk of Old Windsor. They had four children: Anne (born around 1764; did not survive infancy), twins Elisabeth (20 August 1766 - 25 March 1793) and Mary Day Beauclerk (20 August 1766 - 23 Jul 1851), and Charles George Beauclerk (20 January 1774 - 25 December 1846). Their circle included Samuel Johnson, Georgiana Cavendish - who maintained a glittering salon - Edward Gibbon, David Garrick, Charles Fox and Edmund Burke.

Beauclerk illustrated a number of literary productions, including Horace Walpole's tragedy The Mysterious Mother, the English translation of Gottfried August Bürger's Leonora (1796) and The Fables of John Dryden (1797). After 1785 she was one of a circle of women, along with Emma Crewe and Elizabeth Templetown (1747-1823), whose designs for Josiah Wedgwood were made into bas-reliefs on jasper ornaments.

Her husband died in 1780 and, due to restricted finances, she began to lead a more retired life. She died in 1808 and was buried in Richmond.

Diana married Frederick St John 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke, 3rd Viscount St John, son of John St John 2nd Viscount St John and Anne Furnese, in 1757. (Frederick St John 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke, 3rd Viscount St John was born on 21 Dec 1732 and died on 5 May 1787 57.)

Diana next married Topham Beauclerk, son of Lord Sydney Beauclerk and Mary Norreys, on 12 Mar 1768 in St George's, Hanover Square, London. (Topham Beauclerk was born on 22 Dec 1739 and died on 11 Mar 1780 21.)'

The comparisons of fashion choices crack me up. WOW! In ten years of pictures, we found one where they are both wearing a teal dress. And here's a set where they are both dressed in pink gowns! And look, they both dress appropriately at sporting events! And here they are both wearing a red coat and... wait for it... a HAT! in England! They're both wearing HATS! They're just alike! hahahaha.
:wink2:

I love all these pictures!!! I was a huge fan of Diana and my Aunt in England was a huge fan too!!! Kate is gorgeous and I cannot wait for the wedding. Thank you so much for all the love you put into this thread!! :appl:

Do they?
I guess you could take a look at many people all around the world and find similar clothing, but the classic fashion and style Diana made popular is of course, not lost on kate. After all, she is marrying Diana's son, and anyone who thinks she does not have a connection to or is not influenced by :sun: Diana's style by design, not by mistake, would i'm afraid be missing the obvious. Kate's style and Diana's are not similar by accident. And the world wide attention to this detail is not a fluke....

AFter a quick jaunt through ebay i was surprised, ok, maybe not so surprised to see so many rings claiming to be 'Princess Diana' rings...I'll attach a few here and everyone can judge for themselves!!! 8)
