Not if I can avoid it.

The ''highlights'' will be rerun ad nauseum on every news show for days afterward. I think I''ll be able to catch up. If I want to.

Nope, and I turned down tickets to be there as well. I read the news daily, so I'm sure I'll catch pieces of it, but I won't be seeking it out.

DH and I will be there! Insane, but the campaign gave us flights and tix for being early donors/volunteers, more of the latter than the former really, but we are psyched to be part of the enormous party. Who else will be there?

I''ll be watching.

bleh no

Sure will.

I''d like to, although watching it live will be a bit tricky. They''re supposed to set up designated viewing points where I work, and are going to block any media outlet with streaming video. Whether I view it or not depends on how close one of those viewing places is....where I work is HUUGE and I just re-sprained my gimpy ankle so...I just hope they set up something in my building.

Considering tho, that the last estimate I heard from a reliable source, said they are anticipating 2.25 million additional people in DC (they''re attempting to plan for 10,000 buses!!

and will be closing an entire stretch of street - I don''t recall which one - to accomodate them), well, I''ll be glad to watch it HERE, in the hinterlands. I have no real phobia of crowds but....dayum!

Yes it is!!

I will be watching, of course. Regardless of one's political persuasion, I can't imagine why anyone who has the opportunity would choose to miss this. This man is far more than just a Democrat, and the historical value of this inauguration is truly unprecedented. The statement it makes is so profound, and speaks to every one of us on just how far we, as a people, not a party, have come. We should all celebrate the moment, and celebrate us, imho.

I will be at the inauguration...I''m the president of Young Democrats at my college, and we worked out a day trip to take anyone on campus who wanted to go and could get tickets. I campaigned for Obama during the primaries and main election, so this is one of the most exciting things in my (quite young) life.

I''ll probably watch!

And swimmer, that is AWESOME that they''re flying you down!

I sure hope so!

Yes, it is history in the making.

Unfortunately I have to work so I will Tivo it.

Oh heck yes. With the exception of the last inauguration, I think I''ve watched all of them that I''ve been alive to remember. In years past, I''ve been interested in the fashion and cultural aspects, but this year for the historical moment. I have a feeling my grandkids will someday ask about this presidency.

I'll be working. And I don't currently have a TV. But I'll find some way to see it, even if it is after the fact!

Aw come on DF, don''t do your usual thing of starting a post and then only contributing a few unworthy cheap shots: tell us if YOU''RE going to watch....

yes, i will watch Obama''s inauguration.

I''ll watch it on TV.

My office building has a great view of Pennsylvania Ave., and I thought about coming in to watch the parade, but I wouldn''t be able to bring my husband or kids along with me, and the predictions about how crowded Metro will be have convinced me that it''s better to stay at home, in my nice warm house, and watch everything on TV with my family.

I will watch. I think it''s an important day, Dem. or Repub., every inauguration is important.

My neighbor is going. She a ticketed seat. Does that mean she has an up close view?

I totally agree, Ellen!

My problem will be that I''ll be at school with no TV in my room, so I hope I can get live feed off one of the news websites.

Definitely.

I keep asking my son if they''re going to show it at school but so far they haven''t said anything. I think all schools should allow the kids to wath. This is history in the making!

I''ll be watching and longing to be there. I''m with Ellen, it is an historical occasion and one in which we can all celebrate our amazing country.

Thank you so much, Ellen!

I am glad it is at noon. I have to sit in on some interviews that morning, of all things, so I won''t even be able to tune in before maybe 11:00.

Yes indeed!
