So I am thinking I am going to get this ring with a 1.25 center stone. Its been a longgg time since I have sized my ring finger but I used to be a 7.5 and since getting married I have gained a bunch of weight and I think I am a 9 now. But i am hearing that to get the same size ratio as a size 6 which is the average size for women for a 1.25, I would need to get a 1.75. This sounds kinda crazy to me... is this true? My setting is not just a solitaire so I would think it would be a little different. Would the diamond still look small in this setting for me?

No way. In that setting, it''ll be perfect.

woot! thats what i wanna hear! haha hmmm what do you think of 1.5? too big? ugh me and my fat size 9 fingers

Love the setting and I don''t think it would look small at all however it''s a personal preference - some people like to have more/less finger coverage. Good luck with your choice but I LOVE that setting

awww yay your so sweet. I dont want a diamond that is like gaudy and huge but l would like a reasonable size diamond plus maybe a little wow factor. hmmm... i also have short fingers... gifts from my dad. sucks when your whole life people say wow your hands look just like your dads! hahaha

That''s a gorgeous Tacori setting! A 1.2-1.5 should look great set in there!

what center stone does the picture look like? i know you can never tell but it doenst hurt to ask... haha

That is my ALL TIME favorite Tacori setting -- the "flower" setting. I''ve been seriously considering resetting my 1.15 ct stone into it, b/c it really makes a big presence on my hand, which has a size 8 finger. I think it''s going to look lovely on your hand.

Actually, here are a few photoshopped pics of the Ering with three different bands. Just because...

ooooooh you know how to photoshop? that would tooootally help with the tacori buying experience! since I will have no idea what it looks like until I order it and receive it! are you able to leave the original band and add a couple more loops to the sides? you know under the ciircle stone? im gonna try to post a pic. sorry its so ugly... i just have paint haha

First off, that is a ridiculously beatiful setting. I found this finger coverage chart very helpful:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/need-help-finding-the-chart-with-ring-sizes-and-percentage-of-finger-coverage.64644/

According to the chart, you would need just over a 1.5ct to have roughly the same "coverage" on a 9 finger that a 1.25 would provide on a 7.5 finger. imho coverage is a relative measure, and i certainly wouldn''t rely on that chart to provide anything more than a rough sense of how "big" a stone will look on the hand. having said that, i agree with you that this halo type of setting will add some serious diameter to your existing stone. Going from a 1.25ct to 1.5ct will add about 0.5mm in diameter. however, to put it in perspective, it looks like the halo will add at least 2.0-3.0mm in diameter to the look of your stone - that would be roughly the size of a 2.5-3.0ct stone!

so i think you are going to be absolutely fine.

Thanks for the chart. Thats what i came upon and thought oh no! my finger is too big haha so I have been calculating and figuring out how to do this! But you really think that it''ll look like a 2.5 or 3.0? wow... cuz the setting doesnt have an actual halo halo... its kinda different. the "petals" actually face down. I also heard that if the diamond sits high then it will look bigger? here i shall show u

Sorry. I didn''t photoshop those pictures. I had someone else do it for me a long time ago.

I just looked at the setting again today in Bailey, Banks, and Biddle. They have the setting there for 60% off since they''re closing. Unfortunately, my diamond is a tad bit too small for it, and they couldn''t size it for me. Alas, it wasn''t meant to be, b/c I''d want it perfect; I don''t think they could get it perfect for me.
