Will my setting become too fragile with wear?

Here is my setting:

http://www.london-victorian-ring.com/3044-lg.htm

I have it in platinum and I can see that the lower part of the band where it connects to the stone mounting on the bottom is particulary thin on one side. How likey is that part of the ring to melt away with regular wear?
Is that something that could be repaired/filled with some additional metal if it becomes an issue?

Platinum is quite sturdy and rigid.

I would not worry to much about it, however, you may be able to have that area reinforced by a gold smith if it worries you.

I would not be concerned at this stage as platinum is such a durable metal in years to come if it did need repairing a jeweller would be able to rebuild your ring where required. It's a lovely elegant design with fine detail been made in Platinum great idea. If your going to wear a wedding band with it good idea to wear the same metal.
