Width of Real Tiffany 6 Prong Setting

When I called Tiffany, they said the width of their knife-edge 6-prong setting is 2mm. Does anyone know if this is at the top, middle or bottom of the band? Looking at the picture on web and also in person, it looked thicker at the top than bottom. If you have real Tiffany setting, let me know the width at the top, middle and bottom.

Also, when Tiffany and other vendor talk about width, I''m assuming that they are talking about width that you see from top. Am I correct? ....or are they talking about it from side?

ocean...i was just thinking about this too. i googled "width of tiffany" and got your post on this

the Union Diamond tiffany is 1.8-2.3 and they measure im assuming width at the bottom and width at the top. i wonder if tiffany couldn''t give 2 numbers like that? maybe they took an average? if its an average the union diamond setting is .05 of a millimeter more. if they gave the top number the union diamond is .3 more. i don''t know if that''s a lot or not.

i kept looking on the tiff website for the width and couldn''t find it.

I did exactly the same thing too! I''ve googled, tried at ask.com etc etc, but haven''t had a success to get the exact measurement.

When I tried on the real tiffany ring, to me 2.3 mm seemed right at the top and at the bottom 2mm or even thinner. It was harder to tell though because of the knife-edge. At the bottom, it was much thinner than I expected.
After looking and trying on the real one, I think the SuperbCert one is the closest, but you know...they are much pricier.

But, now I''m kind of start looking at other options too. I always wanted the tiffany setting, so didn''t look at other settings at all. But after seeing other people''s rings, there are a lot of beautiful settings out there!! But, the one with side stones are much more expensive, so i may have to stick with Tiffany replica though... [$$)]

I was in the search for a ring a couple weeks ago...finally got one and she said yes! Anyway, I was on the same hunt to find those illusive tiffany measurements. From the Superbcert website, they used to list their measurements (I think it was like 2.7mm tapered to 2.0mm), but I cannot seem to find them anymore.

Anyway, I wanted to buy the diamond from WF, and their tiffany ring looked a little more substantial in pictures, but they told me that it was 3mm tapered to 2mm. I decided on thw WF ring, and once I received it, I was (and still am) absolutely stunned. I think it is a very gorgeous and close replica to the tiffany setting. In pictures, the features look much bigger, but remember, the ring is quite small so what looks like large differences between the various replicas are actually very small and relatively unnoticeable in real life, IMHO.
