Recently BBC, and other news sources, have been posting a new format that I hate.
They'll show videos with very compelling scenes or images that last for only a fraction of a second or have footage that you can't look away from if you want to get the story.
At the same time your eyes are being drawn up to the compelling video footage they simultaneously put text on the bottom of the screen which is essential to read if you want to get the story.
But the text is not up long enough to finish reading before it disappears, especially since much of the time that the text was up your eyes helplessly followed the compelling video.
Then, if that wasn't annoying enough, while both of those are happening a third thing happens that you struggle to take in simultaneously.
The reporter will also talk.
(S)he will report essential aspects of the story, but (s)he is NOT saying what is shown in the text.
IOW the text at the bottom of the screen is not subtitles of what the reporter is saying.
It's totally different content.
So, we're supposed to do 3 things at a time.

Am I alone in being annoyed?
Can I get an, "Amen Bruthah!"?
How I watch 3 times:
First time: I press the Mute Sound Button, and hold my hand up over the bottom where the text is and watch the video.
Second time: I leave the sound down and hold my hand over the top 80% where the video is.
Third time: I turn the sound up, close my eyes and listen.
I'm not a multitasker, only have one brain, am stupid, am old ... I'm something.
