I got my ring this past Valentine''s weekend & I don''t think I''ve stopped smiling since then !!! here''s why I think they''re the best ( and we did go through almost of the vendors listed on pricescope while we did our research to buy my engament ring):

1- Pricing: James Allen approximately offers an additonal 200 discount of their already reasonably priced loose diamonds if you click on their link through Pricescope! frankly, I don''t know where they make their money from this transaction if their pricing is competitive as it is to start with!!! this, in additon to free shipping ( I live in Canada), GIA certificate, their own appraisal ( worth another $70) & for those who pay by wire, there''s even more savings!!!!

2- The Pictures: They post the diamond pictures as is & they''re likeyl to be the only vendor who does this kind of thing! no embellishment, no enhancement or anything of the sort! they get the diamond in their store, they do their own inspection & they tell you excatly what they see!

3- Customer service: I think I fairly drove them up the wall askign about ASET, GIA certificates, a gemonlogist detailed assessment & comparisons between all the diamonds that I was curious about. I learned these things from Pricescope :)! & All of my requests were met on a timely manner, whereas other vendors never bothered to honour most of these requests! I even changed my mind about buying a certain diamond 2 months back & they still provided me with the BEST customer service as soona as I got in touch with them again! they were patient, indulging and quite proffesional. they made me feel comfortable. There was no pressure!

4- Their honesty: they have quite the integrity, honesty & reliability to advise you not to buy something that''s more expensive if it''s not a good choice or wouldn''t meet your satisfaction! which is smart really, since they do offer timely refunds but of course no one wants to go through this whether be it a vendor or a buyer!

5- they didn''t dismiss or try to sway me from getting what I really wanted, a pear-shaped diamond, which is what I''ve always been looking for & could a bit of a challenge to find a decent one! they just helped me make a better choice, a GORGEOUS one actually! I paid US $ 3450 for an E coloured diamond, VS1 clarity, with VG polish & symmetry. The appraisal that I''ve got for the diamond was US$ 4800!!! much better than what I''ve paid!!!!

They have class, customer service, integerity & I love them for makign this a painless dream come true for me!

I will post a decent pciture of my ring very soon in the gallery. If you have any questions just respond to this post & I will be happy to tell you about my online experience! Thank you James Allen for the most beautiful ring I will ever have!

p.s. James (Jim) Allen will personlly answer some of the meails that come in & persoannly advise on the purchase! try Tammy Steed or Josh Cale for an amazing customer service. You also have to be realistic about your requests i.e. don''t request the ASET, Pictures, GIA certificates of 20 diamonds at a time! try to break it up so you won''t get confused & they can accomodate in a timely manner!

Best of luck everyone!
Nora Unrau!

Thank you everyone :)!!!

This is the picture I took for the ring when I''ve received it a day before Valentine''s, and it doesn''t do it justice - obviously neither does the scar on the middle finger! but it''s such a beautiful ring, I don''t believe any picture would do!

Have a wonderful weekend :)

And i will agree about James Allen. Three months ago i had ordered a ring from them but then i changed my mind for personal reasons and i cancelled it. They were great to deal with from the first ''till the last moment, very polite and understanding. I was left with the best impression from them.

I think the ring is beautiful. Thanks for posting the picture :)

PS: That isn''t a scratch...it''s a ''feather''

Your diamond looks amazing :) I''m working w/ Darin from JA right now and I have nothing but great things to say about them. Plus for a princess cut they have a wonderful selection which I cannot say for many other vendors.

I hope I''m almost done w/ my diamond search, b/c I can''t wait to have my own!

Another vendor from here tho that I want my setting through, I''m getting very discouraged. When I had questions back in Dec I wasn''t replied back to and now again five days ago I contacted them and still no response.

Congrats on your purchase and your great experience!

thanks for your review of them! I am looking for my first diamond and am very overwhelmed, and this is very nice to hear as I have been staring at their site for days. ;) your ring is beautiful congrats!!!

So pretty and elegant for sure!

Hi Mrs. U,

I had an excellent experience with them too ! They were very honest about the description of the stones that I had selected. Since I wasn''t buying a round I became very loyal to their website based on the photos they provided.

That''s a beautiful pear, and the ring looks so delicate yet strong on your finger.

What is the carat of the diamond and what is the width of the band?

Glad you had such a great experience with JA!

It is beautiful. Congratulations on your engagement!!!

Congrats on your engagement! you should start a new thread in show me the ring and post more pics

Thank you for such an excellent and thorough review.

As a new person to PS and to this level of diamond information, it can be very daunting! However the amount of information you all choose to share makes it so much easier for those of us thinking about buying in a completely different manner than we are used to (ie B & M).

Thank you and can I say your ing is absolutely beautiful!

real pretty ring!

Your ring is really feminine--now can I be superficial and ask what color nail polish you are wearing?

Hi again everyone!

Thank you all for the lovely comments & wishes:)!

Amber: nail polish matters are never superficial ;) & just so that you know how serious I am about my nail polish, this one stays in my handbag at all times!!! It’s the Sally Hanson "myth" # 28! It does make my fingers look more graceful!

Roxie Bling: the diamond carat is .90, but pears tend to look bigger than round diamonds & even other shapes (everyone at the office refers to it as The Rock :). I went with the knife edge 2mm on James Allen’s website – it’s the first choice in solitaires! I think it gives the ring its delicate elegant look...the knife edge design I believe is originally Tiffany''s but I think the ones on JA''s website are far more affordable & elegant!

Ladies, a helpful tip as well, check out oncewed.com for new & once-worn designer & wedding dresses for less than half the price! You can also list your dresses there after the ceremony''s over if you’re yet to be wed!
