I found out, as did my sister and my SIL when we all moved from the city to various different places, that the way coffee tastes depends on three different things. The coffee grinds themselves, the water, and the type of pot or brewing system you''re using.
My SIL moved from the city to upstate and she was never able to make a palitable cup of coffee again because her new water was well water and it tasted awful. Supposedly it was purified blahblahblah, but it tasted like gack
. My sister and I moved from the city to L.I. , she wouldn''t give up her Mr. Coffee drip system and I wouldn''t give up my Farberware electro-perk, we bought lots of brands before we got the taste right with L.I. water.
We temporarily switched to Kangen water, a high alkaline water, and that made the very worst cup of coffee of all! and that was supposed to be very healthy.
