Why do people post such small pics?

Kenny - I see nothing wrong with your original post. This is yet another thread that appears to have taken a wrong turn.

I am not sure why, but some posters seem quite hypercritical lately. I don''t understand why people feel the need to criticize so much. But, whatever, that is usually why I don''t post in threads like these.

And, for the record, I have plenty of criticisms in mind, I just don''t post them. What is the point, really?
agreed.

Because there are size constraints placed on pictures by the PS system and everyone uses a different program to resize.

Why is this such a big deal?

I have other things to worry about than that.
I don''t have a foot wide screen as I am using a small notebook - and people sometimes are learning how a site works and several mistakes are made. THat''s all they are... Mistakes. I don''t sweat the small stuff.

I''ve wondered the same thing on the pictures that are an inch by an inch, but in general I think people post pictures that are fine in size (to me). I have a 24" imac though, so I try to be careful that I don''t post 15" pictures.

And, I''m glad this was brought up- PS is severely outdated in the capabilities it does or doesn''t have. I am glad that is being worked on. (But hey, I''d prefer to have this over nothing so I''m not complaining too much!)

I've posted my fair share of gigantic photos by accident, and also a few wee ones. It's a learning curve.

I have to admit, the English Major in me goes a little batty with the multiple line posts. Paragraph breaks are generally used when changing topics, or to make a clearer statement. When you break up complete thoughts into seperate lines, it gives each line more weight. Kind of the way a comma causes the reader to take a mental break in the sentence, a complete paragraph causes a larger and more significant pause. It does come across as an attempt to give each statement more weight, rather than having complete thoughts and topics together in one paragraph.

Hi, I am RaiKai and I am a wall of text poster.

On some forums it fits the vibe well, on others it does not. I think there are some forums where everyone just dittos the person before and anything else is seen as too much writing! Or where there is more of a clique presence going on with little interest in actual discussions or different ideas and opinions.Walls of text are not so welcome there in my experiences!

I am however a quick typer and write as I think of my response. Even if I ditto someone I have my own thoughts I almost always want to add. I myself always like reading others thoughts even if their opinion is similar to that of the previous 80 posters, as long as it is not in netspeak or something else hard to read.

I realize this means some do not read my posts as they look long. I know this as I have been called out on it on other forums before (or rather - criticized for it!). That is fine to me! I will still write what works for me knowing that. That is *my* style.

All that to say that people have very different styles and I think to compromise them too much weakens the flavourful mix that I find on forums like PS.

As for pictures...sometimes it just posts way different than it should have posted based on how I formatted it and I cannot delete it after!

RaiKai, I tend to think of wall of text posters as people that don''t separate their paragraphs. So something more like this:

Hi, my name is princesss and I love writing. Sometimes I write about things I really love like jewelry and sunshine and puppies, and sometimes I write about things I don''t like like my exboyfriend (who was a total jerk) and high fat content in ice cream. Did you know Ben and Jerry''s has the most fat content per serving of any ice cream in the US? That made me really sad because I really like their ice cream. This one time I was at the beach and this guy offered to buy me ice cream and I was like, "Hello, I''m in a swimsuit. Do you think I could fit in this if I ate ice cream? Please!" Have you ever noticed how ponies are pretty? I wish I had really strong hair like theirs because it''s super pretty. When I was little my dad offered me a pony, but I turned him down because I wanted a car. I should have taken the pony because all I got was a stupid Barbie car - I wanted a Masserati! Oh well. Live and learn I guess. So I''m thinking about buying this diamond. It''s a 1.52 G SI1 Ex/Ex but I don''t know. I have the stats around here someplace, but do you think going with such a low colour would be okay? I know D is the best and all, but my name starts with G and I like the idea of having that in common with my diamond. But based on those stats and the position of the moon at my birth, do you think it''ll be a good diamond, or do I need to take my Chinese zodiac animal into account? That''s what my friend''s boyfriend''s cousin who is a jewelry dealer said (I think), but I don''t know if I can trust him because he carries a man purse. Even if it is Gucci, I don''t think I can forgive that. So I''m going to be graduation from college soon, and I was wondering what everybody thinks of the job market? I know people say it''s bad, but I''m smart, so it''s okay. I saw a position for the Regional Manager of Sephora is open - I should just go for it, right? It''s my dream job and my dad always said I can do anything I want to. I led a really stellar study group for my Art History class freshman year and I was the co-secretary of my sorority, so I totally have the management skills needed. When they say they need 5 years of experience, that''s just to weed out people that don''t really want the job, right? And also, I don''t want any job where I will be making less than $85,000 a year plus bonuses. Also I really like not using breaks in between separate thoughts. I''m like, the anti-Kenny! *giggle*

At least, that''s what I think of when I think "wall of text."

Princess, you should post that wall of text in yellow and in italics.

Ha ha. Alright, I am not that fond of that kind of "wall of text" either!

Ponies, Man Purses and Zodiacs, oh my!

I revise my statement to "Hi, my name is RaiKai, and I like to write a lot of text....in separate paragraphs."

Drat! Kenny, I knew I forgot something.

Thing, right back atcha!

RaiKai, I am so impressed you made it to the zodiac comment. I didn''t think anybody would read it through!

I did, only because I knew you were doing it tongue-in-cheek so expected it to have some hilarious gems in there (as it did).
