This has been a really interesting read. I hope to be somewhere in the middle with my newborn son. Hubby and i joked this morning after discussing this article that we would make the baby do tummy time without food or sleep today until he learned to roll over already! Little slacker, a month and a half old and we drill him everyday and he still cannot do it. Unacceptable because I know he can do better!

My thoughts- you CAN get an A if you study hard enough! Well, if all of the "chinese" kids get an A, then they cease to be exceptional and instead are average. I think this is the definition of C. Unless we advocate grade inflation, it is not poossible for everyone to get an A. Therefore, this entire line of thinking is flawed.

My BF is Bengali and I was raised by west coast hippies. This article fanned the flames of the old "raise kids Asian or white" debate! It's hard to argue with success: Asians and Indians are certainly over-represented relative to their portions of the population at our top-tier law school. Still, as I always point out, he and I ended up in the same place, so there must be more than one way to skin a cat.
