If a pregnant woman is bitten by the Aedes mosquito (which can carry Zika virus) her baby may be born with microcephaly, a neurodevelopmental disorder, causing the skull and brain to be small and undeveloped.

Regions of the most-affected countries are even advising women to not get pregnant.
The virus has spread to most of South and Central America and Mexico.
USA appears to be next.
