Are there any online merchants that sell empty antique mountings?

Funny story: I just called a local antique jewelry store store to ask if they had any empty mountings.....

"Hmmmm, well we might have a few. Most of our estate jewelry already has the center stones in them......but we have a box in the back you can look through."

(Am I lame for thinking that was funny?)

Anyway, I will update y'all on the contents of the box in the back.

I''ve occasionally seen them for sale through Erica and Grace''s site,jewels by erica grace. Single Stone deals in empty settings as well.

Are you looking for an authentic vintage or antique piece, or a replica?

I''ve never tried searching Ruby Lane for them, but I''ve found other neat old things on Ruby Lane, you might try that.

Replicas are easier to find but it''s extremely difficult to find new pieces with the same level and quality of workmanship as the truly old pieces.

ebay, but you have to dig through there and really work the search engine due to seller's weird descriptions sometimes

ebay's "dimka" was Hampton Antiques now is OakGem or something used to sell used old mountings.

Search the old posts here. I think there was a list of vendors compiled back in 2004 - 2006 or so.
