i''m thinking about upgrading my engagement ring from a 1.25 F VVS1 1895 (no pave) Cartier to either a 2.5ct F VS 1/2 1895 Cartier with pave or getting a loose diamond 3ct D VS 1/2 (EX/EX/EX). i''m so used to name brands/designer for most of my luxury items so this is a big departure for me. I figure I can get a bigger, whiter diamond but now the trick is to find someone to make the same Cartier setting.

Both those settings will be beautifully made...you could also go custom if you're looking for specific details.



Noone will get the setting 'exactly right', though, because noone reputable will copy the original.

For what it''s worth, my ring was also inspired by the Cartier 1895 with pavé, and I got it made by Brilliant Earth, an eco-friendly/Canadian diamond vendor out of San Francisco.
