THE 5TH STONE I HAVE NOT SEEN, just info on it.

they all are none florecence and no culet; and vary in a couple hundred to $400 in price difference, the VVS1(1st stone) being most expensive which I dont care to go towards.

I was told that very thin is no problem...just the extremely thin could be

Love them! They aren't very common where I'm from and people compliment me all the time!

I do get pretty ticked when they mistake it for Princess cut though. :P

I think I may have responded to the previous post, but I'll put my 2 cents in again. I LOVE emerald cuts. Just bought one, in fact, and am in the process of having a setting made.

In making a decision, you need to determine what length to width ratio you prefer. Do you like longer, more rectangular stones, or shorter stones that look more like a square (e.g. stone 2)? Personally, I like a ratio of about 1.5:1.

I would also be careful of stones whose tables are enormous (such as stone 4). They will make the stone look glassy. The depth and table percentages of stone 5 look quite good, but I would be wary of the "very thin" girdle. That's debatable, though.

Finally, you just have to trust yourself. I know you haven't seen stone 5, but of the 4 that you have seen, do any "speak" to you? If not, maybe you need to keep searching until you find one that does.

true...well stone 2 and 3 spoke, #3 was more in my mind an Emerald, since the ratio, and the way #2 shined it had all for sides darken when you twist it in the light, where as stone #3 had a staged refraction. the light bounced at different angles and gave depth to the look of the stone instead of a "flat" look.

I will see stone# tomorrow or the next day. I will post about it here.

For those who mistake the princess to the emerald....great time to sit and have a talk with that person

thanks

I love emerald cuts too.

Had a nice set which is missing in action since the quake.
Hope to find it sometime....soon.
I hope I hope

Mine was kinda 1.5:1, if I remember correctly.
Seems like I can't remember anything anymore anyway!

Hope you show a pic of what you decide on.
