Wedding Who gets announced first, bridesmaid or groomsman?

I have a friend DJing a wedding this weekend, and he''s not sure who to annouce first at the reception. Is it the bridesmaid or the groomsman? I wasn''t sure, and figured one of you wonderful people would know.

Thoughts?

I don''t know if there is a rule but usually bridesamaid escorted by...groomsman.

I would guess that it is "ladies first," as antiquated as that is in this day and age.
