Hello. I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I am working with Whiteflash to find a 1ct. princess cut loose diamond for my fiance. I had a question about Whiteflash''s inventory. If Whiteflash is searching for a diamond for me, it is obviously not in their inventory. Meaning, Whiteflash''s cutter is not the one cutting the diamond. So how can Whiteflash sell a diamond that is not branded as theirs? I guess what i am trying to say is, this diamond virtual listing, will it be as good as their Expert Selection or ACA cut? Please let me know if I am not making any sense and I will elaborate. Thank you.

I think WF recently said they just got in a bunch of new stones and haven''t photographed them yet. I am guessing this is the batch they are looking in. The only stones that WF sells as branded are the ACAs. Expert Selection is just a term they use to describe 4 stars. ACAs are the 5 stars and cut to very tight guidelines. It is unlikely that a virtual diamond would be called in and would earn the ACA label. If they call in a stone from someplace else they will view it first and tell you whether they recommend it or not.

Have you looked at other vendors who have more Princess cuts in house? If you have very strict specs you might have to wait for something to come available.

WF came highly recommended and so i went to them for help. I also spoke to GOG, but they only had 1 princess cut in my price range ($5000), which had inclusions dead center (SI1).

I found this at highperformancediamonds:

(just showed up recently)

Any advice you can offer would be helpful. I wanted to wait until i narrowed down the diamond selection before i posted. But oh well.

P4, our inhouse diamonds are exclusive inventory to us. If we don''t happen to have a stone in our inhouse selection that fits your criteria, we have access to the virtual inventory that many others do.

If we''re searching for a diamond for you, that could mean a few things. It could mean we''re getting in touch with our cutting houses to see if there''s anything imminently on the horizon for you. It could mean that we are going to the virtual list to find something for you.

It''s entirely possible to get fantastic stones from the virtual list, too. We have great relationships with many of the suppliers, and they''ve come to know what will pass our evaluation and what won''t, so they''re pretty good about sending stones they know we''ll find we can recommend.

I hope thats helpful.

Was the SI1 inclusion seen from the naked eye and did GOG confirm? or did you just see it in the pics which is 40x or larger (which does look pretty scary).... mine is an SI1 and I do not see any inclusion although seen in the 40x image.

Yes Allison it does allay my fears. I spoke to James and he explained everything pretty well. Thank you for your response.

GOG confirmed that it can only be seen at 40x and assured me it was eye clean. I have a lot of options and i am trying to narrow down my choices. Im glad i have time on my side.

When I purchased my diamond a few yrs back from WF, the stone was not in house. They had the stone sent to them and inspected the stone for me. The stone was everything they told me over the phone. I was very happy with them throughout the entire process. GL
