Coming from one who thought an internet diamond was way too scary to try, it''s been a bop down 5th Ave. I posted on 1-15(or 16)-06, for input on my two finalists. Many thanks to the kind folks who replied.
Stone#1 came from a local, independent, established retailer, and Stone#2, from Whiteflash. I wasn''t "WOWED" by #1, a 2.01 Ct. F/VS2, as it wasn''t as colorful after it left the jewelery store lights. And I learned the pavillion was a little deep, allowing leakage from the center of the stone. The F color was beautiful and it sparkled, but I was a little let down as I knew it was a lot to pay for a stone I wasn''t crazy in love with.
As I have lurked on PS and researched for about a year, I took a deep breathe and called Whiteflash. I was lucky enough to have my call answered by Miss Renee. She quickly put me at ease, because she was on her J.O.B. She searched her offerings while I was on the line, and we found Stone#2. Although hesitant when I first called, Renee "flipped me" and after later speaking with Brian, my mind was made up. I was ready to have the stone sent to my appraiser, Richard Sherwood, a true professional.
I was blown away by the Whiteflash ACA, 2.16 Ct., G/VS2, as I compared the stones side by side. I am paying a lower price, and a fair one, for a larger stone with precise cutting. I know I am getting the best for my money and can not wait until it arrives. Yippeeeeeeeeeeee!!
I am having WF set my stone in the Fine Line Solitaire by Le, and am also ordering a w-band that has 9 ACA diamonds, 3 points a piece, for a delicate look that will compliment the e-ring.
As my wonderful spouse of 20 years is riding along with me on this project, I count myself doubly blessed. Not to mention the fact he doesn''t want to know "how much" because he says it will give him a stomach ache. Hee hee.
Thanks a million to all you wonderful PSers! It''s just too good...............
