Hi Everyone! Does anyone have the Whiteflash Amphora Halo setting? Can you share some observations and photos? Has anyone here considered this setting or have an opinion? I like the idea of this halo because of its price point, it might have the option of ACA branded melee (seems post below) and I can get it in Platinum/Iriidum alloy. Whiteflash is one of the only companies who offer Plat/Irid alloy (rather than Ruthenium or Cobalt) as their platinum alloy of choice (Whiteflash uses plat/iridium 950/50, Mark Morrell MWM uses 900/100 and David Klass uses it but I’m not sure which proportion).

If you have another type of Whiteflash branded, ACA melee setting I’d love your observations about design, melee, wearability Etc. (and photos, too)! Also: does ACA melee matter when it’s so small? I’m assuming it does, but I have no visual experience with different melee qualities.

Well, interestingly, the Jewelry Description for the Amphora said it comes with ACA melee yesterday, but today it now says it comes with regular melee. So now my question is: is ACA melee significantly different from their Modern Round Brilliant Melee? Has anyone used regular melee on a Whiteflash setting and been happy with that? Or do you recommend choosing a style with ACA melee?

I do not have ACA melees, but have brian gavin signature melees. Yes, it makes huge difference.

To elaborate a bit, having melees that are inconsistent in light reflection characteristics is like having a large diamond with a big inclusion and/or an area of dead facets. I really bothers me when I have a couple melees that are dead while others are shining just fine. It is more noticeable in a halo than on a pave setting. If you really look, it is more noticeable than you think. Having that said, there are plenty of people who are just happy with regular melees.

Thank you Flyingpig for your observations and opinion! Very helpful.
