I bought a white Haitian cotton sofa when I first got married. I still have it after raising a daughter and two large dogs, but it has been reupholstered (very expensively). I think it would have been less expensive to buy a new sofa, but I loved the old one. Oh! And it is not white this time!

I am always amazed at how long people keep things for. I am really bad at changing my furniture. I think I wouldn''t if I found the right stuff though. I buy a lot of my furniture at Ikea. The prices are so good that I always find a reason to change after a year or so
