Here is my newly finished white jadeite bead necklace. I used 14k gold wire and an organic looking silver clasp. I think it turned out quite interesting. I bought the original necklace and didn't like the length, and am not a fan of thread... Anyway, hope you like it :)

Jadeite beads are a real pain to photograph by the way 0.o

Nice job - elegant. And a whole lot stronger than thread!

Why?
Just curious.

Beautiful job! :appl:

nice!

Flash bounced off and didn't show the right color or the translucency.

I don't use flash when photographing any gems. It also sometimes distorts the colour so give it a try again with it off.

Gorgeous necklace!! Much improved from thread.

No flash. Too dark lol!

Place it next to the window for natural light to shine through the beads. It has worked for me consistently. Yeah, that's night-time dark.

One solution, keep the shutter open longer.
Some of my exposures are 30 seconds long.
Of course this requires a camera that can do that and a tripod.

The shots of it hanging on the fence are nice.

Lovely beads - I've never seen white jade like that. LOVE the outside shots and your gorgeous grounds...

Very artistic and ingenious with the fence shot. Can you take a close up of a single bead? Am I being too demanding?

I'll try tomorrow.
