white gold ring + platinum prong head

would you be able to post photos of your white gold ring + platinum prong head?

i would like to see the different in colour of the settings.
is there a significant difference?


since the prong head does not undergo severe wear unlike the band, will the platinum prong head change from its shiny look to a patina look?

I said I'd be concerned about the color difference as the two metals age to different colors. Platinum is glare white and WG is buttery white without rhodium. I've only seen platinum heads used on YG, not WG. I think I'd get either all WG or all platinum. I never paid extra for a Pt head, so I have nothing to post. WG has worked fine for me, and 18k WG is quite hard and has stood up to my wearing it. Just make the jeweler polish out all the casting and machine marks in the WG. Probably not PS jewelers, but my local one seems to treat WG as low rent.

IRL, I cannot tell the diff in colour but in this pic, plat appears more white than the 18kt white gold...

i thought white gold was alot more white than platinum.. did i read and gathered wrong information?

Depends on the alloy and when is the last time it was replated.
