Hello all,

I was considering purchasing the following setting and diamond:

0.75 C Diamond:

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-2175862.htm

Setting:

http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/Sierra-Solitaire-Engagement-Ring_1415.htm

I have a few questions and concerns:

1) Has anyone seen pictures of this setting with a similar sized stone? I am worried about the prongs being to big the the stone, as the setting is designed to hold a 0.65 to 2 CT diamond. With a lower end stone size, I cant help but think the diamond may not be very proportionate to the setting(and look awkward).

2) Is that a good diamond? I am interested in obtaining optimal cut/fire/shine/sparkle/whatever you want to call it. Or would there be a more optimal stone in a similar size? (at least VS2/G)

I recently posted regarding buying a Tiffany classic ring, but decided I''d give this route an honest shot before proceeding. I very much like Tiffany, mainly due to its setting and proportionality. The setting is very important to me, and I am extremely worried about ordering something that I''ll regret.

Anyways, comments and real pictures of similar rings would be extremely appreciated!

As far as the diamond goes, I can not imagine anyone having regrets

about a stone like that!!

IMO that setting will be just fine sizewise for a 3/4 stone. It appears this setting is made to order rather than stock off the shelf so it will be suited to your size diamond. For that price it had better be made specifically to your order. One thing I notice about WF is their gold prices seem to be on the high side. On the other hand, in this case it doesn''t cost much more to go with plat. Usually there is a much steeper price jump when going from gold to platnum. If this beautiful setting is made to order for your specific diamond and you are okay with the price, once again, I can''t imagine a scenario where it would not be absolutely stunning

I''m going to say you can''t go wrong with a WF ACA, looks like a beautiful stone. I LOVE that setting, it is beautiful. I agree with outatouch and believe the ring will be made to the proportions of your stone so therefore it will look perfect. Good luck with your search and let us know what you decide!

I do intend on going platinum(sorry if the link I posted stated otherwise).

Does anyone know if I could contact whiteflash to get some pictures of a similar size stone/ring previously ordered?

Its worth a shot to ask Whiteflash if they have anything like this. They might also have pictures of similarly-sized stones in other solitaire settings, so you could compare.

Also, browse around PS a bit - there are entire threads devoted to pictures of rings with stones that are 1 ct and less.
