Hello,

I bought this 1.57 carat lab grown diamond off ritani. This is my first time ever holding a diamond so I’d like to get you
Folks opinion on it.

As you can see from the attached photos, the arrows are white under an ideal scope (attached image of instrument im using as well) Is this normal?

I’ve also attached an image of what it looks like indoors, from indirect sunlight. Is this pretty typical?

Thank you kindly for your time!

Syl

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, sylvino!

You're viewing your arrows with a H&A scope instead of an Ideal-Scope.

Most H&A scopes have a silver lens base (arrows will appear silver) whereas the Ideal-Scope has a black lens base (arrows will appear black).

Thank you so much for the replies, the “riddle” has been answered for me haha

Does seeing those hearts and arrows guarantee brilliance?

I find in outdoor indirect lighting the diamond looks a bit “bland”. Is this normal? I’ve never handled a diamond before..

You're very welcome!
Yes, indirect lighting will bring out the brilliance (white light return) of a diamond whereas direct lighting will bring out the fire. :)

Would I need to view the diamond under an asset scope to determine its tones in order to get a feel for how good this diamonds brilliance is? I’m wondering if it doesn’t have a dark enough tone? Maybe I should start another thread!
