What do you guys think of this dress as a bridesmaids dress only dyed to a deep purple colour. I adore it as do my bridesmaids so I''m tempted to get it made for them.
I have a closer photo of the top-I'd say that I'd probably have to have it dyed a purple colour as it would probably look a bit out of place otherwise, what do you think? It has little pearls on it.
It is really hard to see the top clearly in the first photo! Even the second one isn''t very clear. Thanks a mill for your thoughts! Dark purple is my fave colour also-I love it.
The only problem I have with "dye" is that sometimes, occasionally, it bleeds or extra pigment "hangs out" on the fabic. Now this doesn''t always happen...but when it does, it''s n-a-s-t-y...it stains the skin and anything else it touches.
I once did a wedding where the bride had her BM''s dye their shoes red...it was a nightmare. The dye had run, and stained the inside of the shoe which inturn stained the girls feet. When they touched their shoes it transfered to their fingers. Now the worst of it was on their feet, and thankfully it was just her feet. But could you imagine if this had happened with a dress??? OMG
Now I''m not saying this would happen to you...but its a problem with dye, and something to be aware of.
If you''re having them made...why not just buy deep purple taffeta to start with?
Thanks Italia! Yeah I meant to write that I would be having them made in purple material-I have study brain(have been at it since 8am this morning and it''s now after midnight!!).
I think that is a beautiful dress!! Would be lovely in deep purple. I think the shape would be very flattering on anybody, and I love the pearls at the top! Definitely dye the top part too. Great choice, and one they can wear again too!
