Which would you pick? Good cut/bigger vs ideal cut/smaller

Update, as I thought, the 1.9 came back as an I color, strong white fluoro, I2, good cut. I sold it already for $5500 on IDNID, I would have only gotten $2k on Worthy.com. I’m keeping the 1.5 and putting it in a DK suspended halo. Thanks to all for your thoughts and advice!

Awesome update! Congrats on the sale and your upcoming ring project! Can’t wait to see pics of he completed ring!

Ideal cut...all day long. The slight mm spread difference isn’t enough to convince me to abandon an ideal cut diamond for a lesser cut, lower clarity graded diamond.

Ditto...quality over quantity. If I ever could: 1+ ct, D, IF, super-ideal proportions, perfect ASET and Ideal scope images (no light leakage under table, no clustering or obstruction), uniform and well-aligned H&As and Vs, and HCA score less than or equal to 1.

I'm more of a quantity over quality type of person, but here you go:

I really love the second one (WF). If only I had $22K of disposable income lying around. And this is not to say that I don’t love my current e-ring, wouldn’t trade for the world since spent countless months selecting the best super-ideal for my custom designed vision.

as the cut will determine the beauty of the diamond that is the one area I generally always recommend you do not compromise. There's lots of flexibility with clarity, color and even size options but an Ideal cut will face up whiter even when a lower color.

I am slightly surprised that no one has commented on the bolded part - strong white fluoro :eek2:
That’s awesome! I’d love to have seen this under UV light to see what white fluoro looks like.

It was really cool. That was the one rare interesting thing about it. Not blue, pure white. It made it so bright even though it had inclusions and a not so good cut.
