I am torn between two types of stones....one is a .90 SI2 I colour GIA excellent...or a .81 Hearts and Arrow,,,H colour VS2 Clairity.......is there a big difference in size...does H&A mean its cut better? Which would you guys pick?
I don''t think the size difference would be visible. I''d get the 0.81 because it''s higher in color and clarity, provided both are ideal cut. If they''re around the same cut quality and the same price, it''s not worth dropping a color grade and 2 clarity grades just for an extra 0.10ct. If the cut of the 0.81 is better (hard to tell without more info), that''s definitely what I''d go for. If the cut of the 0.9 is better, it might be more of a toss-up.
I think I''m going to have to disagree here on one point. I haven''t seen as many diamonds as most people on this forum, but I was able to clearly see the difference between a 0.9, 1, and 1.1 of similar cut quality at a store the other day. I think I''ve read that about 0.1 carat is when it becomes noticeable. That doesn''t mean I''d pick the larger stone though. These seem like very different choices. Why these two? I think the PS crowd needs more info.
