I think the half eternity with the rounds is beautiful! I've got a square stone with rounds in the band and rounds in the wedding band. I like the contrast! And the little rounds sparkle more than channel set princesses from my experience.
FI is a nut for matching things. He told me after I had picked out my wedding band (he didn't want to tell me before in case it swayed my decision) but he was glad I went for a diamond band to go with the diamonds on my setting because he likes the matching look best... even though it cost way more than a simple plain white gold band would have. Luckily the one I ended up with was on sale so we got 25% off.
