Hi everyone! So last march I designed my ER with two surprise diamonds, but in the back of my mind I was worried about a gap with both rings on. I went to a B&M to look at some HOF wedding bands and the SA pulled out a few options. I would just like people''s opinons on which they would pick, and if a gap does or does not bug you (and why!). Thanks in advance!

The first was a micropave band, which I''m not a big fan or pave but it fits perfectly.

The second was a 9 stone band with TCW of 1.24. This one does have a gap and I haven''t decided if I like the look of two separate rings (on me).

This last pic is with both bands on at the same time for comparison...

I think I like the nine stone band better (seems a bit more me-ish), but I''m a little apprehensive about wearing a set with a gap. I was totally against it before PS but I''ve seen lots of sets with gaps that I think are gorgeous. It makes it look like two separate rings. But a lot of friends I''ve shown these pics to just point out the gap. My other option is to take the ER back to the guy who made it and ask him to remove one of the two surprise diamonds. That is something I''m least happy about doing because I love the delicate side profile.

Thanks for looking!

I MUCH prefer the 9 stone. Classic look that will never go out of style. I don''t mind a gap and I think over time you won''t even notice it.

option 2 defendant!! I don''t think option 1 goes with your solitaire very well . JMO

...I''m not liking either that much

. Have you tried on a 7-stone or 5-stone? I''m thinking it might look better if
you had metal going inbetween your fingers. Just a thought. Couldnt hurt to try.

I like the 9 stone, but I think it needs to be a smaller carat weight to allow your solitare to stand out more.

Given a choice between only those two, I''d go with the criss-cross band. I just think it fits with your e-ring better.
I''d try on some seven stone bands though. I think that nine stone is too wide on you. There are lots of other styles too. Now is your time to have fun and try everything on!

I love option one! It''s classic meets modern in a beautiful duo

I like option #2 but maybe some smaller stones so that it does not take away from your ering. I don''t like option 1 because I think it has too much going on and competes with your solitaire. What about a nice curved band?

They are both pretty rings. I agree with Gemgirl though, try as many different styles as possible. One will make your heart sing and you will know thats your wedding band

Hi I prefer the 9 stone to the micropave bacnd but think yu should do as other suggested and try on a 7 stone or 5 stone.

BTW I love your e-ring. Would you mind posting more shots of that on its own with a profile shot to show the surprise diamonds pretty please??? thanks

I think they are both beautiful but IMO not the most suitable match for your ering. I would search for something that is a little more understated and compliments (gap or no gap) rather than competes with the setting.

Both make your engagement ring appear a good bit smaller.

Odd idea, have you considered a curved band with slightly smaller diamonds?

I prefer the first.

I like gaps...a lot. But in this case I prefer the pave band. You might want to try a nine stone with a lower profile, though, and see if you like that.

I don''t like either one with your gorgeous ring. I agree you need smaller stones or a 5 stone so as not to swallow up your e-ring.

They do make rings with mild curves in them that might just be enough to get around your surprise diamonds.
I think the curves are mild enough to wear as a stand alone and not look weird. I'll see if I can find some
and get you some links.

Actually after looking at the first ring again, an eternity band in the size of those stones might look nice.

EDIT
More diamonds would be nice but something like this...

Edit 2 -
What about something like this? Would your surprise diamond sit at the indention in the middle? I think
we need a pic of the profile of your ring.

I also like the 9 stone, however with a smaller carat weight.

The first ring is VERY cute, but clashes with your eng. ring. That ring would be a fun RHR.

How about something like this one from Blue Nile? My friend has a band like this that she got to sit flush with her ering, and she loves it:

The pave band goes better with your e-ring, but I prefer the 9-stone. Maybe a lower tcw would be better? I like Vespers idea.

Wow thanks for all the feedback! So I did try on a 5 stone band in the store, but I didn''t post pics because they were too over-whelming for my ER, IMO. Maybe I''ll try and go back and look at another 5 stone band with a lower weight and a couple of 7 stone bands. I did also try on a curved pave band but it didn''t look quite right with the ER. Maybe if I had one on each side of my ring . But it kind of looked just like a bent little ring.

I''m also going to try and see if there are bands like the bluenile ones locally to see how I feel about them. There''s a bridal show this weekend that I''m going to, and the jeweler that made my ring is going to be there. Maybe something will strike my fancy?? It''s a good thing that the wedding isn''t until October! I''d hate to think of doing this on a time crunch!

But here''s another pic of the setting...

Here''s another view. Maybe I should show the DF how to use the camera so he can take the pictures! I had to twist my hand around and try to hold my right hand stable enough to snap this blurry pic.

Out of those two choices, definitely the 9 stone band.

Exactly my thoughts.

I really don''t like the split band. I think it looks kinda cheap. Sorry if that offends; I don''t mean it to.

I think is would be a lovely RHR but not a wedding band. The 9 stone is by far the better choice but there must be better out there.

Your e-ring is so beautiful it deserves a great mate.

I prefer the look of the 9 stone band, but agree that a smaller carat weight may compliment your e-ring better. You may want to consider a spacer band because it looks like the diamonds would scratch your e-ring.

It looks like you just need something (5,7,9, 11 stone) with a lower carat weight that sits low. Looks like
there is room under your surprise diamonds.

You know that was my original thought, but I didn''t want to post it because I was afraid of offending a PSer with a lovely micropave band! But both bands are the same price, which kind of made me go

.

I do agree that it might make a nice RHR, maybe an anni present down the line!

The DF said he prefers the 9 (or 5) stone band. We are going to try to look for thinner shared prong bands and see if that makes me go
30.gif
.

I''ll also keep an eye out for other curved or odd shaped bands that might sit flush with my ER. But I''ll most likely wear the band alone at work, then wear both when I go out. A friend asked and I''ll probably never wear the ER alone after I''m married.

Thanks everyone for your great input so far! This is why I love PS!!

Definitely option 2, maybe with 11 even smaller stones so they don't draw attention from your Ering?

The split-band is just too cutesy, it doesn't complement your elegant, simple solitaire at all.
