I''m looking for earrings for my double pierced ears where I haven''t worn earrings on the second holes for years. I have a pair of studs for the first hole, about 80 points F/VS2, but I bought them not knowing much about diamonds years ago so I''m not sure about the quality of the cut. I do know that they are very white and are very close to my ideal cut G/VS2 e-ring. Not quite as sparkly and not nearly as much fire, but pretty nice. Anyway, I wanted to get about 50-65 points tcw for the second holes and maybe some day, I''ll upgrade my original pair for something slightly larger than 80 points tcw or I may even consider upgrading these new ones down the line as well. I was looking at the Expert Selection and thinking about this matched pair.

Then I was thinking that it may be neat to get an ACA and one from the Expert Selection to see if I can tell the difference. I like this one http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-1948508.htm, and I would swap out AGS-6634509 since that idealscope image doesn''t seem as nice as AGS-6634507. It''s really interesting that all 3 of these diamonds have AGS reports that are numbered so close together. (Just curious - does WF cut some of the Expert Selection stones?)

Do you think that the ACA stone would match an Expert Selection stone? The specs seem to match very well. I have an email to WF to see if these stones are eye clean. I would go to a G, but I didn''t find many choices out there. I''m concerned that since I am wearing studs next to each other, that the color variation may show if I go down to H or I like you guys often recommend. Which pair of the 3 would you recommend?

For the setting, I really like the 3 prong martini. (The pictures I found from old threads were so helpful!) I wanted to try the la pousette backs, but it''s an extra $75! Do you think that''s worth it?

Thanks for your help in advance!!

Just a little question... if you haven''t worn earrings in your second holes in years, haven''t they closed up?

you probably won''t see any difference though. especially at that size.
i am sure they cut many of the es stones.

it will match very well. those stones are almost identical!
i wouldn''t worry about eye-clean at this size. if you need them to be mind clean, then go for it but you really wont'' be able to see inclusions at this size. you will not notice any difference from g to h. unless you look at them through the pavilion, you won''t notice much (if any) difference from g to j. especially once they are set.

the martini''s are awesome. definitely get them. the standard heavy friction backs work great. i wouldn''t worry about getting the la pousette backs.

best of luck pixie! can''t wait to see that you decide!

ChooChoo - nope, they have not closed up. I got the second pierced when I was in 6th grade, so those puppies are here to stay. I got a third on my left ear when I was in high school, and after not wearing earrings a while because of a slight infection, it closed up, and there is not even a mark left.

Belle, thanks for your advice!! So you think I can go down to I even when wearing them next to a F/G? It is possible that the F/G is not as well cut so the new ones may look whiter and more sparkly. I''ll let you know what I decide!
