Based on these GIA's alone, which one would you pick and why? They are both the same price and get good TIC scores which are excellent in every aspect.
The 2.23 gets a 0.8 TIC and the 2.32 gets a 1.0 TIC. Will each stone display an equal amount of fire and brilliance? I assume the TIC means 50/50 on fire and brilliance?
I don't want to sound like 'that guy' but when you say 'Gets a TIC of x.x', do you mean 'Gets a Holloway Cut Advisor (HCA) score of x.x'?
TIC is short for Tolkowsky Ideal Cut (IIRC? ) and is a descriptive term within the HCA tool (as in 'this stone is within / near to Tolkowsky Ideal Cut parameters', therefore should have a balance of white light return and coloured 'fire', which Tolkowsky's research showed was a preference to many people).
There is also BIC (Brilliant Ideal Cut) for stones that are likely to show more white light than coloured fire (so think low crown angle, large table) and FIC (Fiery/Fire-y Ideal Cut) for stones that are likely to show more coloured 'fire' than white light return (i.e. high crown, small table).
At least that's my understanding - I may well be wrong... lol
