Thank you so much for your vote, jeff. I''ve never thought of that buying a diamond could be this frustrated, and hopefully with everybody''s help here, i''ll be able to close the deal next week.

I was looking for a stone in the .7 to .8 size last week and pulled to G VS2 stones or better. Everyone on here convinced me to look at some of the SI1 stones that WF considered eyeclean. It took me some time to understand (and an hour of talking to Brian at WF) to get it. Finally, I realized, with these H&A cuts, you can definitely go to SI1 and your eyes (or anyone else for that matter) will never be able to tell. I had about 8 stones and was really confused. I finally settled with the largest stone of those I was looking at that was a G/SI1. I am so excited to get it!

Anyway, to answer your question, I think you should search WF for SI1. You could save well over $1000 and still get a G or F stone. Just call them to make sure it is "eye clean" Use that extra $1000 for the setting - or some really terrific earrings! OR, a bigger diamond if possible in a SI1.

The advice I got - don''t pay for what you cannot see.

This stone is an F (color over clarity - another lesson) and would save you over $1000

I''m sure there are many more!

I am REALLY liking that one that cinnamon posted . . . but if you want to stick to VS2, I vote for #2 of your choices.

Thank you so much for your opinion, cinnamon. I see your points. From the education I got from this site, I''ve already learned that "don''t pay for what you cannot see.", and therefore I gave up my fantasy for D or E and vvs. But since I can''t view the stone in person, VS2 just make me feel more secure. BF would definitely love to save $1,000 extra, but I''ve save him tons of money by going to WF instead of T&Co, don''t feel it''s necessary to save him another $1,000
